<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>The Opportunity</strong></span></p> <p>Ulteig is currently seeking talented and motivated Design Engineer - Studies engineering candidates to support power system studies and modeling within the renewable energy markets.</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>What You'll Do</strong></span></p> <div> <p>We are hiring two Design Engineers at the same level, each aligned to a specialized focus area within power system studies. Together, these roles will support a broad portfolio of wind, solar, and battery energy storage (BESS) projects in a fast-paced environment.</p> <p><strong>Track 1: Protection & Planning Studies</strong></p> <ul> <li>Perform system studies including short circuit, arc flash, load flow, and harmonics analysis</li> <li>Utilize tools such as PSSE, ETAP, EasyPower, and related software</li> <li>Support system planning and protection analysis to ensure safe and reliable system design</li> </ul> <p><strong>Track 2: Transient & Insulation Studies</strong></p> <ul> <li>Perform advanced studies including transient overvoltage (TOV), transient recovery voltage (TRV), insulation coordination, and harmonics analysis</li> <li>Utilize tools such as PSCAD, ETAP, EasyPower, and related software</li> <li>Support detailed transient and insulation performance analysis for renewable interconnections</li> </ul> <p><strong>Selected candidates will be required to:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Deliver high-quality technical support to generator owners across wind, solar, and BESS projects</li> <li>Work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high degree of ownership</li> <li>Leverage Python scripting and automation to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability of study processes</li> </ul> </div> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>What We Expect from You </strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required, ABET accredited program, or equivalent required</li> <li>A minimum of 2 years of working experience, with at least 1 years of experience directly related to power systems</li> <li>Experience in EasyPower, ETAP, PSSE, and/or PSCAD is preferred</li> <li>Experience with programming in Python is preferred</li> <li>Independently completes assigned tasks required and actively manages individual workload</li> <li>EIT status or working towards EIT status</li> <li>Must be a self-starter and willing to identify improvements and implement them, utilizing support from others</li> <li>Must be comfortable asking questions to team when learning new skills</li> <li>Must be analytical, self-motivated, and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic attitude</li> <li>Excellent presentation and verbal/written communications skills</li> <li>Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, clients and external agencies</li> <li>Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><em>As you consider applying for a position at Ulteig, we encourage you to think outside the box – because we do!
