Senior Employee Relations Manager

The Senior Employee Relations Manager will provide employee relations and investigation expertise, case management, consultation and project management, within the global ER function. Position Overview The responsibilities for this role fall within both the proactive (education and prevention) and reactive (conflict management and investigations) categories. The Snr ER Manager will be responsible for providing expert level consultation, guidance and support in all matters related to employee relations. These matters include management training, consultation and guidance; employee complaint review and investigations; policy development and interpretation; disability and leave accommodations; and oversight of reduction in force processes. Prioritization and balancing time between projects and crisis-response is a critical component for success in the position. This is an individual contributor role. It reports to the Sr. Director, Thrive. Responsibilities • Lead investigations on employee relations matters and potential policy violations to evaluate and effectively address issues • Partner with stakeholders as required to thoroughly conduct the investigation and reach the best outcomes for our organization and employees • Interpret and apply understanding of corporate policies and practices, employment law, and other regulations to provide advice, guidance, or clarification for ER inquiries • Work with data to identify and analyze employee relations trends and make recommendations to address ER trends and root causes. • Work on projects and initiatives globally to mitigate risk • Manage or participate in special projects/programs requiring ER stakeholder input, as needed • Network, research, and bring new and innovative ideas on how Autodesk can create a more inclusive and engaging work environment • Brand and evangelize the value of a centralized ER function; help build a culture of openness and trust • Create guidelines, best practices, and trainings to educate employees, managers, and other members of HR on how to mitigate and properly address behavioral issues in the workplace • Maintain current and relevant knowledge in a variety of concepts, practices, procedures as well as legal updates associated with Human Resources and Employee Relations • Provide guidance and support to HR community and managers on performance management and the Performance Improvement Plans Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor degree or equivalent; advanced degree and legal coursework preferred • Minimum 8 years of global Employee Relations experience gained in either an HRBP role or Employee Relations Advisory role or equivalent experience • Comfortable working with any level of employee or manager; have a knack for reading a situation and navigating sensitivities in order to find creative solutions to people issues • Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills, enabling individual to establish partnerships working with senior leaders and across organizational lines • Experience with employment law principles and effective risk management practices • Ability to think strategically about programs, processes, and people. Ability to recognize, analyze and communicate strategies for issue resolution and risk analysis • Innovative with a passion for coaching employees and managers, and creating teams that work together cohesively. Strong analytical thinker, data driven, and creative in approach to driving positive employee relations and change • Ability to design and create new programs and initiatives.
