In this role, you will drive financial governance, cost visibility, and optimization strategies across a large-scale multi-cloud SaaS environment, partnering closely with CloudOps, Engineering, Finance, and leadership teams to improve operational efficiency and maximize business value. </p> <p>This is a highly strategic and hands-on role grounded in the FinOps Foundation Framework, with direct accountability for translating financial insights into engineering action and measurable cost optimization outcomes. </p> <p>You will: </p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Lead Cloud Financial Strategy & Governance </span></p> <ul> <li>Drive FinOps practices across AWS and Azure using the FinOps Foundation Framework domains: Understand Usage and Cost, Quantify Business Value, Optimize Usage and Cost, and Manage the FinOps Practice. </li> <li>Establish and maintain cost allocation models, tagging standards, and governance frameworks that enable accurate, actionable financial visibility. </li> <li>Develop and enforce cloud financial policies, standards, and operational best practices across Engineering and CloudOps teams. </li> <li>Partner with leadership to support cloud cost reduction initiatives and long-term infrastructure efficiency goals. </li> </ul> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Drive Cost Visibility & Financial Insights </span></p> <ul> <li>Own and manage CloudZero configuration, including taxonomy, tagging governance, and cost allocation rules. </li> <li>Deliver actionable reporting and analysis for Engineering, Product, Finance, and leadership stakeholders, including anomaly detection, trend analysis, forecasting, and variance reporting. </li> <li>Maintain visibility across AWS, Azure, Datadog, Elastic, and related platforms. </li> <li>Advance cost intelligence initiatives, including unit economics and cost-per-customer analysis. </li> </ul> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Optimize Cloud & SaaS Spend </span></p> <ul> <li>Identify and drive optimization opportunities across Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, rightsizing, storage optimization, and SaaS licensing. </li> <li>Develop and maintain utilization and cost-per-unit reporting across key infrastructure and vendor platforms. </li> <li>Partner with Engineering teams to improve cost-aware architecture and operational decision-making. </li> <li>Track optimization initiatives through measurable outcomes and ongoing KPI reporting. </li> </ul> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Build & Scale the FinOps Practice </span></p> <ul> <li>Embed FinOps processes into budgeting, forecasting, operational reviews, and engineering workflows. </li> <li>Coach Engineering and CloudOps teams on cost accountability and sustainable financial operations under a “You Build It, You Run It” model. </li> <li>Automate repeatable governance and reporting workflows using SQL, Python, and infrastructure tooling. </li> <li>Drive adoption of emerging FinOps standards such as the FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification (FOCUS). </li> </ul> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Support Emerging AI & Platform Cost Management </span></p> <ul> <li>Establish financial visibility and governance models for AI and machine learning workloads, including cost-per-token analysis and budget guardrails. </li> <li>Partner with teams across the organization to evaluate evolving infrastructure usage patterns and cost drivers. </li> <li>Help shape scalable financial operating models for emerging technologies and cloud-native platforms. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>What You’ll Need to Be Successful </strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years of experience in cloud financial management, FinOps, cloud infrastructure operations, or related disciplines. </li> <li>Deep expertise in AWS cost architecture and strong working knowledge of Azure cost management. </li> <li>Experience administering FinOps platforms, including ownership of cost allocation rules, tagging governance, and financial reporting structures. </li> <li>Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for reporting, analysis, and automation. </li> <li>Experience building cloud cost forecasts, financial models, and executive-level variance reporting. </li> <li>Strong understanding of AWS cost optimization strategies, including Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and enterprise discount models. </li> <li>Experience implementing governance policies using Terraform, AWS Service Control Policies, or similar infrastructure-as-code approaches. </li> <li>Demonstrated ability to influence Engineering teams and drive operational change without direct authority. </li> <li>Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management
