Welder - Second Shift | $21 - $27/hr

Welder Pay Rate and Hours:
  • $21 - $27 per hour
  • 5:00 pm to 2:30 am (with possible overtime), Monday – Friday
Welder Summary:
The welder plays an essential role in ensuring that welds are precise, durable, and meet both customer and industry standards.
Welder Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to identify specific welding requirements and ensure proper execution
  • Set up and operate welding machines, adjusting amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse settings as specified for the job
  • Inspect welding machines, cables, and all associated equipment to ensure proper functionality and safe operation
  • Determine the appropriate welding technique, position, and jig needed based on weld specifications and material thickness
  • Guide the electrode or welding gun along the designated weld line, maintaining proper arc length and speed to achieve the correct depth of fusion and bead, using the metal color, sound, and puddle size to assess quality
  • Select and implement the most efficient welding process for moving raw materials or finished products in various situations
  • Examine completed welds for bead size, cracks, or defects, and recommend or perform necessary repairs
  • Clean and grind excess weld, slag, and splatter to ensure smooth finishes
  • Clean, grind, or degrease parts to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Safely operate manlifts and cranes to assist with material handling and positioning
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the team and production goals
Welder Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a welder required
  • Must successfully pass any applicable welding tests as required by company standards
  • Familiarity with and adherence to AWS D1.1 welding standards
